WELTONVILLE VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANY
Chiefs Corner

February 2010

Weltonville had one fire call in January and two ems calls. Weltonville went mutual
aid to Berkshire Fire on Shirley Rd for a house fire. The house was a total loss.

Weltonville has four people in firefighter one class, they started in January and they
will continue until April. In the class is Tony R., Logan P., Allen M. and Nicole Q.

New York State passed a new law called Amanda's law, this requires by law that
everyone installs carbon monoxide detectors in their house. What these detectors do
is measure the levels Co2 in the residence. If the alarm activates then that could
mean you have above normal levels of Co2 in your residence and you should have
your heating source checked right away.

Once again if you are interested in joining the fire company, please stop by any
Thursday evening and grab an application, or fill one out on line, under the recruiting
tab and we will contact you back. We have a job for everyone, not just firefighting, we
would be more than happy to have you.
